GDevelop Advocate Program Code of Conduct

This is the Code of Conduct for GDevelop's Advocate Program.

Thank you for your interest in becoming a part of the Advocate Program. With great power comes great responsibility, therefore, by applying for this program you’re agreeing to the following Code of Conduct. Please keep in mind that this document might change and expand in the future and that all changes apply retroactively to existing Advocates.

Please keep in mind that as an Advocate, you will always abide by the GDevelop Terms and Conditions and the Privacy Policy.

Respectful Behavior

GDevelop fosters a community based on mutual respect. Advocates will not be disrespectful of others, and we will prioritize the safety and well-being of our community, including those belonging to marginalized groups.

We reserve the right to act upon complaints of disrespectful behavior to any degree that we see fit, including but not limited to your removal from the Advocate Program, our online platforms, and/or legal action.

No Harassment Policy

There is no space whatsoever for harassment in the GDevelop community. As an Advocate, you will not only not harass others, but you will ensure that others are not harassed.

Harassment based on sexual orientation, gender, gender identity and expression, age, body size, religion, disability, physical appearance, or any other parameter will not be tolerated.

This includes both your behavior online and offline, as well as any products, games or content you create with GDevelop or share within the GDevelop community.

Honesty

As a GDevelop Advocate, you will be honest when representing yourself, GDevelop, and its community.

We encourage you to participate under your real name, although the use of a pseudonym is allowed. Regardless of how you choose to present yourself to the community, you will not be dishonest, lie about personal behavior, product features (GDevelop’s or anybody else’s), or anything else at all.

This includes precluding yourself from B2B harassment or bullying (e.g. talking bad about another company’s product).

Confidentiality

You will not share, nor ask for, confidential information under any circumstances. This pertains particularly (but not solely) to personal information (yours or anyone else’s).

How to Report Bad Behavior

If you are a victim or witness of any behavior that breaks this code of conduct, GDevelop’s Terms and Conditions, or Privacy Policy, reach out to hello@gdevelop.io immediately and provide as many details as possible.

In the case of Advocates, this code of conduct applies outside of GDevelop spaces, both online and offline. As an official representative of the GDevelop community, we will hold you to a high standard of behavior.

If the person you’re lodging a complaint against is a member of the GDevelop staff or a moderator, or even a fellow advocate, they will not participate in the decision-making process regarding the outcome of your complaint.

GDevelop will take past behavior into consideration when taking action, in particular when it comes to repeat offenders or those seeking to undermine disciplinary actions by creating alternative accounts, aliases, or looking to escape the consequences of their actions in any other way.

Consequences

If found guilty of breaking this Code of Conduct, the GDevelop Terms & Conditions, or the Privacy Policy, you will be asked to stop and be expected to comply immediately. Even if you comply, we may choose to pursue further steps, such as expulsion from the Advocate program, identification within the GDevelop community or the general public, and even legal steps should they be necessary.
