These Services can only be used by children under 13 with parental permission and supervision: parent, legal guardian or a teacher/educator having full management of the account.
We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. In the case we discover that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we immediately delete this personally identifiable information from our servers. If you are a parent, guardian, teacher/educator and you are aware that a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so that we will be able to do necessary actions.
Note that if the personally identifiable information is contained inside the email address of the account itself, we will remove the account. We recommend teachers, educators or parents willing to have children under 13 to use GDevelop to use the Education plan which provides fully anonymous accounts.
GDevelop offers a dedicated GDevelop for Education subscription designed for schools, teachers, and institutions. This subscription provides specific data protection guarantees that differ from standard GDevelop accounts, as described below.
Anonymized Student Accounts (Fully Anonymous Mode)
When teachers create student accounts using GDevelop for Education's anonymized account system, no personally identifiable information (PII) is collected or stored for those students. Anonymized accounts are not linked to a name, email address, or any other identifier that could be used to identify a student. This represents the highest level of data protection available within GDevelop. Teachers manage these accounts directly, and students can use the platform without providing any personal information.
We strongly recommend this mode for all classrooms, and in particular for students under 13.
Student Accounts Using Institutional Email Addresses (Single Sign-On)
Teachers may alternatively invite students using Single Sign-On (SSO) through their institution's email system. In this case, the student's institutional email address is stored as part of their GDevelop account, as it is necessary to associate a GDevelop account with a specific user identity and to enable login through the institution's identity provider. This email address is handled in accordance with the rest of this Privacy Policy.
Teachers and institutions should ensure they have obtained any necessary consent from parents or guardians before inviting students via SSO, in compliance with applicable laws and their institution's data protection policies.
AI Tools for Students
GDevelop for Education includes access to AI-powered tools (such as the AI assistant). These tools are disabled by default for student accounts and can only be enabled at the explicit discretion of the teacher or school administrator.
If a teacher chooses to enable AI tools for their students, the use of those tools is subject to the privacy policies and Terms of Service of the third-party AI service providers that power them. GDevelop is not responsible for the data practices of these third-party providers, and we encourage teachers and institutions to review their institution's data protection policies and obtain any necessary consents before enabling AI features for students.
Content Created by Students
GDevelop provides tools that allow students to create games and other digital content. GDevelop Ltd is not responsible for the content created, published, or shared by students using the Service. Teachers and school administrators are solely responsible for supervising student activity and ensuring that content created by students under their supervision complies with their institution's policies, applicable laws, and GDevelop's Terms and Conditions.
