We're excited to introduce our newly external partners—the team of Playgama.com!
Playgama aims to help creators handle the boring and tedious stuff so they can focus on what truly matters: creating their next hit game. To achieve this they’ve built Playgrama Bridge. This open-source and completely free-to-use SDK allows game developers to distribute their games on various platforms simultaneously with just one integration instead of dealing with every platform’s SDK manually.
They’ve recently added a GDevelop-specific extension for Playgama Bridge — ensuring that the developers who make amazing games in GDevelop can benefit from the master-key SDK to reach millions of players on a plethora of playgrounds. Check out Playgama’s step-by-step guide that shows that integrating the SDK into a game made on GDevelop is easy and quick.
More than that, we invited Playgama’s own Pavel Polovinka to tell you more about their platform and the ways it can be used by game devs.
Pavel Polovinka, Head of Developers Success at Playgama
Pavel Polovinka: "At Playgama we realize that the web gaming market is far larger than many can imagine. But we also realize that its highly fragmented nature can make it difficult for developers of many great titles to find their audience. And we’re here to help.
As you already know, we’ve built an SDK that alleviates compatibility pains of HTML5 games during the pre-release stages. It’s at the heart of our ecosystem and is already trusted by more than a thousand developers. It’s open-source and available to anyone, for free."
We strive to ensure our SDK supports all major game engines—and of course, we couldn’t overlook GDevelop. This no-code, open-source, intuitive, beginner-friendly, and lightweight engine makes it easy for web developers and designers to jump in and quickly build playable games. We're excited to introduce our SDK’s GDevelop extension to your vibrant community and hope it proves helpful to many developers.
Playgama Bridge also facilitates the exchange of a plethora of in-game data points between the game and the platforms where it’s published, including:
On top of that it allows devs to retrieve values for specific in-game parameters from platform’s settings, such as language or server time.
But the SDK integration is just the beginning, and Playgama is much more than just an SDK. To make a game really successful, you still need to go through the entire journey of distribution and monetization. You can take that path on your own, investing time and effort—the complexity and length of the process will depend on many factors. Or, you can leave it to us.
Our ecosystem also contains a service layer — a distribution and monetization PaaS (Platform-as-a-Service). It offers a full suite of support services tailored to indie creators, small teams, and large studios alike. It supports web game developers at every step of the way— defining distribution strategy, helping with crafting promotional materials, identifying necessary improvements, testing, passing moderation, receiving platforms’ feedback, processing payments, etc.
Playgama’s PaaS covers all the steps of the way: monetization and marketing tools to help developers manage content, payments, and revenue, plus a QA tools that bring platform requirements into a single checklist so that devs can test games for different devices, check language adaptations, ensure compliance, etc.
Working with us gives devs access to distribution channels that reach over 220M players worldwide, along with feedback and improvement recommendations within 24 hours of the first submission. And the best part — no upfront costs. We operate on a revenue-sharing model where devs get up to 90% of their game revenue. This ensures that everyone is treated fairly.
Once again, the PaaS part is not bound to Playgama Bridge, but it makes games that use the SDK more likely to succeed.
The key takeaway is that HTML5 gaming space is vast and almost infinite, and our Playgama Bridge SDK and Playgama’s PaaS simplify navigating it by ensuring compatibility with a wide range of platforms and successful distribution and monetization on them.
Thanks again to GDevelop—by teaming up with them, we aim to support passionate developers who use this lightweight engine for quick and iterative creation.
